My Article in Ceramics Monthly

Image
An article I wrote appears in April's issue of Ceramics Monthly . Artist Sebastian Moh had an exhibit at The Kiln Studio and Gallery in Fairhope, AL a few months ago. He and Susie Bowman, the owner of The Kiln, came up with an event combining his opening with a a private dinner for ten lucky cooked by Sebastian. He is an accomplished Asian chef, and his fabulous meal was served on his own handmade bowls combined with dinnerware of other artists from the region. The evening was unforgettable, and I can't go into more. You must read the article. It's only in the magazine now, and will come out online eventually.

Annabelle Wins Award at UAB

Image
My daughter, Annabelle DeCamillis, won an award at the UAB Juried Student Exhibit held in the gorgeous new AEIVA building. Above is a photo exhibited as part of her installation featuring her in her bathroom with a painting of her bathroom on the wall and on a dress she designed and made by hand. She wore the dress at the opening and tried to hang out nearby to answer questions from the crowd. The dress will hang on the mannequin until the show comes down.  AEIVA Website

Gallery Talk at Huntsville Museum of Art

Image
Yesterday I gave a gallery talk at the Huntsville Museum of Art for the opening of my Encounters exhibit. A lovely, large crowd showed up, and we had a grand time talking about my paintings. I am honored to be exhibited by the museum, and tickled that so many people came from Birmingham, Nashville, Chattanooga, and places closer. Peter Baldaia and David Reyes did a fantastic job with organizing and installing the exhibit. The gallery is very large, and after years of creating this series of paintings it was inspiring to see them all together and well-lit. I will make another trip to Huntsville to photograph the exhibit. Stay tuned.  The exhibit will be up until June 14, 2015. For more info, check the website. Huntsville Museum of Art.
