Dirk Staschke piece at BMA
The Alabama Clay Conference was held this past weekend in Birmingham, with celebrity artist demonstrations, an exhibit at the Birmingham Art Museum, and a clay vendor's market. Scott Bennett, my husband, is the director of the conference, and was please with the smoothness of operations, and the positive response of attendees. The art was beautifully displayed at the BMA among various parts of the permanent collection.

Annabelle DeCamillis (my kid, if you're just tuning in) was just awarded the Gold Key award for this painting and her entire portfolio by the regional Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. This means she is on to nationals. If her portfolio is selected, she will win a $10,000 scholarship for college.
